Management System Certifications: ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001

Management System Certifications

Businesses today face a wide range of risks – and opportunities. Management system certification enables companies to improve organizational performance and protect reputation. Modern management systems are designed to be flexible and built to the organization’s specific needs. In this context, certification becomes a valuable tool to target continuous improvement in a specific area as well as mitigate risk across the organization.

FTG Baltic UAB is certfied in three areas. In Quality Management (ISO 9001), in Environmental Management (ISO 14001) and now also in Health & Safety Management (ISO 45001).

Quality Management System (ISO 9001)

To compete effectively and win their customers’ loyalty, companies need to deliver products and services of consistent quality. This demands a rigorous approach to quality management.

The purpose of the ISO 9001 certification process is to help develop a robust Quality Management System (QMS) that drives continual improvement. ISO quality standards are globally recognized and trusted. The ISO 9001 standard offers flexibility, enabling us to design a Quality Management System around our specific products, customer needs and risks. As such, it acts as an essential building block to improve risk and quality management.

Environmental Management System (ISO 14001)

ISO 14001 certification encourages a lifecycle view of products and services. This helps to identify demand for new products, integrate circular economy principles into design and development, and assess the environmental impact of those products.

The ISO 14001 standard requires greater commitment from top management, bringing environmental management into the heart of business governance. The ISO 14001 requirements emphasize proactive initiatives to boost environmental management performance, starting with a business-wide analysis of social and environmental impacts. The ISO 14001 Environmental Management System ensures all requirements are integrated into business processes, and all environmental management risks are identified throughout the product and service lifecycle.

Health & Safety Management System (ISO 45001)

ISO 45001 is the new international certification standard in Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (OHSMS). Adoption of the standard supports in implementing a comprehensive approach to occupational health and safety, or in improving upon an existing OHSMS. Achieving ISO 45001 certification underscores our organization’s commitment to protect employees worldwide.

The new standard expands its scope beyond physical safety to encompass the psychological dangers of burnout, harassment and stress-related illness. It also includes less obvious hazards such as repetitive strain injuries and back pain common in office environments.

ISO 45001 certification requirements follow the same High-Level Structure as other ISO management system standards, streamlining the implementation of several certification standards simultaneously. It also aligns with existing certification standards such as the International Labour Organization OSH Guidelines and ILO International Labour Standards and Conventions.
